Chicago Technical Crew Application
Applications Due By March 13th
Spring Musical Auditions
Due to the extreme amount of conflict students have been submitting for shows this year- we are changing how we ask for them to be submitted. You will get the opportunity to notify the director of LARGE conflicts (Ex. Going out of town, funeral, unmovable single day issue etc.) on your audition form the day of the audition.
**Please note- this is a CLASS, you are expected to be at EVERY reherasal you are called for, with maybe a FEW exceptions cleared by a FACULTY MEMBER. You are expected to attend ALL Of tech week, show week and strike. If you CANNOT hold these expectations, do not audition. Thank you.**
Every student who auditions needs to sign a NEW audition contract.

Cappies applications are now open for the 2022-2023 school year!
Cappies Critics is a theatre / journalism program in which student critics watch theatrical productions from various high schools throughout Orange County and write a review. For each show you attend, you write a review about the show for a chance to be published on the OC Cappies Facebook and website. At the end of the year, there’s a gorgeous, Tony Awards-esque Gala where all critics vote for the nominees and winners of various performance and tech based awards, and there are also awards for critics!
If you have a passion for theatre and writing, then this is the perfect program for you! Applications are open to students in grades 9-11, and if you’re interested in applying, visit occappies.com to read published reviews and learn what a Cappies review looks like.
The link to the application can be found below and on either the Virtual Callboard or Cappies Section of the SJHHS Theatre Arts Website. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via my email: bellagordon@cox.net. All applications are due Friday, May 6th at 11:59 pm. Happy Writing!
Thank you,
Bella Gordon

Co Directors: Cambria Graff and J. Jason Daunter
Vocal Direction: Michael Ushino
Musical Direction: Dean McElroy
Due to COVID restrictions, we have had to change our game plan once again! We are no longer able to produce a musical review. We have now applied for a full length musical that we can produce on campus, or on zoom depending. We are waiting back to hear from the licensing companies. We are excited to announce this collaborative project that will allow us to hopefully present our musical on stage in January (with a virtual audience)! However, if not, it is also completely adaptable to online.
Due to this change, you may use the song you were preparing for the review, or when announced, you can sing in the style of the show. Hosts are able to still submit, but we are also asking you submit a 16 bar song.
**All students who audition should be available for live, social distanced, performance. We cannot guarantee we will be live or virtual. Students and families should be comfortable with both options if auditioning for this opportunity.
