Theatre & Musical Theatre COBSERVATORY
A program created to assist high school students in being prepared for either a career in the arts or a conservatory/collegiate program. Like majoring in college, the students are required to complete a certain amount of classes before they graduate, as well as meet discipline specific benchmarks in their growth through the program. These benchmarks can include but are not limited to- outside auditions, learned skills, volunteer commitments, and participation in after school productions. It also includes GPA and citizenship requirements. Each discipline has specific requirements due to vastly different specializations.
How do I apply? Schedule a meeting to submit your commitment with Ms. Graff, in order to ensure it is the right choice for you. Most conservatories will have discipline specific meetings from June of the prior school year through September of the 9th grade school year to chat about it and enroll interested students.
Deadline for new students to Enroll in Conservatories: November 1st of each year.
Career Technical Education (CTE)
All of our technical theatre classes offered at San Juan Hills High School, are Collage and Carrer Technical Education Certified. State-funded education, providing career/technical preparation and guidance to meet identified educational standards and industry needs. High school students earn grades and credits toward graduation: Gain experience required for immediate employment, Participate in courses that offer internships, Earn certificates of completion, Experience careers that may assist in choosing college majors and enhance college admission applications

Beginning Drama
Course Description
This course introduces the student to all areas of theater practice except acting. The student becomes knowledgeable in analyzing set design, color, lighting, costumes, and stage make- up. Practical experience is gained in the construction of sets and stage materials. Course can be taken more than once for credit.

Course Description
As the second level of the course sequence, this course trains the student in all areas of theater practice except acting. The student becomes proficient in analyzing set design, color, lighting, costumes, and stage make- up. Practical experience is gained in the construction of sets and stage materials. Course can be taken more than once for credit.

Actors Repertory
Course Description
This advanced course offers the student experience in performance situations. The student will study acting, directing, producing, and dramaturgy through multiple performance experiences. There is a prerequisite of one year of Advanced Drama for this course and/or Drama/Musical Comedy. Admission into the class is by audition only.
